Making Changes

I’ve been sick with a cold for the past few days. I haven’t been sleeping very well during the work week which I’m sure has not helped. I think I will be trying to make some changes to my routine and see how they work. First I want to try to exercise for an hour after work, not only to feel better and relieve stress but my hopes are I will feel tired earlier in the evening and get to sleep earlier. The second thing which is the harder one is no caffeine past 6pm. I love coffee and coke and can drink a lot of each. The third thing that I want to change is no tv, computer or anything electronic past 10pm. My hopes are to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep during the work week which generally does not happen. Yesterday I went for a workout and worked out for half an hour & got 8 hours of sleep last night which felt great. I worked out for an hour today and hopefully can get at least 6 hours of sleep tonight. Want to start the week off right! I do have to discipline myself tonight seeing that there are new episodes of The Walking Dead & Dexter both on at 9pm. Thank God for PVR’s!

  1. Looking forward to hearing how your new plan works out for you. No caffeine after 6:00 would be so hard for me. Same with electronics after 10:00. But I know I should do both. Hope you’re feeling better.

    1. Thanks I’m feeling much better! I think the cold is almost gone. I’m struggling with the less caffeine and turning the tv off by ten last night was tough. Especially that my wife and I didn’t get to see The Walking Dead. We are watching that tonight lol!

  2. I hope you are feeling better and getting the sleep you wanted. I too have issues with sleep. Instead of being tired after work, I’m all wired up. I get lucky to get 6 hours uninterrupted sleep. I agree with your suggestions. Goodluck my friend. I know you’ll get those awesome Z’s soon!

    1. One day at a time! I’ve been pretty good with cutting back stuff like caffine and tv but my body is used to falling asleep around midnight so it might take awhile. I just have to keep working at it. I’m kind of the same as you, all wired up after work. Hopefully we will both figure the sleep stuff out! Hope your week is going well!
