Day 57 of Bible in 90 Days reading plan! This is what the LORD says:
“A cry is heard in Ramah—
deep anguish and bitter weeping.
Rachel weeps for her children,
refusing to be comforted—
for her children are gone

I recognize this from Mathew ch 2!

  1. While reading Ezekiel I have wondered why God refers to Ezekiel as the son of man. Maybe I read that wrong but it is something I have notcied. Yes it is much neglected and as I go through the Bible I see there are many books that don’t get touch on much if at all!

    1. In Ezekiel, “son of man” does not mean the same thing as when Jesus called himself the Son of Man. In Ezekiel, it is more about God reminding Ezekiel of his mortality, You could paraphrase it as “mortal man.”

When Jesus uses the term he is hinting at Daniel 7. But he is also using it because it is a more nebulous term than “messiah” and the people’s preconceived ideas. Jesus used a title that He could fill-in without the people making too many assumptions.
